Connecting API keys

Add your OpenRouter / OpenAI keys for optional cloud AI.

Cloud features use your own keys — OY.Surf never proxies through a server of ours.

Where to add them

Open Settings. Paste your OpenRouter and/or OpenAI key into the relevant field and Save; a saved key shows a checkmark. Remove it any time.

How keys are used

Keys stay on your Mac. When the provider switch is set to cloud, requests go directly from your machine to that provider with your key. Switch back to on-device and nothing leaves again.

Hugging Face token

Separately, a Hugging Face token (Settings → AI models) only speeds up model downloads — it isn't an inference key.
